The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Taddei, Ed.M as the Director of Calvin Hill.
After 40 years as Director of Calvin Hill, Carla Horwitz is retiring. She is thrilled and excited to pass the torch to Susan Taddei.
Susan first came to Calvin Hill as an undergraduate assistant in 1988 and has been a teacher, a parent, and most recently Assistant Director. Her love for and commitment to Calvin Hill is strong and unwavering. Her organizational and analytic abilities are exceptional as are her grasp of curriculum, the development of young children, children’s learning and the importance of supporting and engaging parents in the life of the school.
Susan has approached her new role with brilliance, confidence, openness and joy. She has willingly and enthusiastically sought out and used Carla’s generous and rich mentorship and is clearly ready to be Calvin Hill’s Director. We know under Susan’s leadership that the Calvin Hill Community will continue to be held and nurtured from generation to generation.
Carla Horwitz, Ed.D, who has led The Center for 40 years, is now Director Emerita, collaborating closely with Susan through this transition. Carla will maintain her faculty appointment at the Yale Child Study Center. Her students will continue to observe in the Calvin Hill classrooms.
There will be a celebration in honor of Carla on April 30, 2016. Please save the date. More details to follow.
